As the winter season enters its final stages, it’s time for the UK’s snowsports’ fans, sporting elite and assembled media to head over to the premier freestyle resort of LAAX, Switzerland for the British Snowboard & Freeski Championships 2019.
From 31st March – 7th April 2019, The BRITS will present the British Championships across all 4 Olympic freestyle disciplines of Halfpipe, Slopestyle, Snowboardcross/Skiercross, and Big Air.

Our continuing partnership with LAAX, arguably the World’s finest freestyle resort, ensures that we give our promising young athletes the very best stage whilst also attracting World-leading Team GB athletes including Olympic medallists, such as Billy Morgan, James Woodsy Woods, Katie Summerhayes, Katie Ormerod, Jamie Nicholls and many more.
Similarly, our long-standing supporter and environmentally-responsible outdoor action brand, Picture Organic Clothing will once again be presenting the British Big Air Championships, where leading ambassador and Olympic bronze medallist, Jenny Jones will be on-hand to decorate the 2019 British Big Air Champions. During the week, Picture will also be hosting a Movie Night to showcase their award-winning and genuinely awe-inspiring film, Zabardast, plus a Picture Organic Treasure Hunt around LAAX.
Throughout the week, BBC Sport will be stepping up its coverage this year with daily Snowboard and Freeski Championship edits, athlete Instagram takeovers, and a ‘Groms That Are Killin it’ feature for main channel broadcast, while Protect Our Winters will be joining us for the first time, in its continuing efforts to mobilize the outdoor sports community against climate change.
Off the hill you can expect all the usual revelry, eased in gently with daily Apres Sessions and featuring 2 headlining nights. Master of disguise and Ski Sunday presenter, Ed Leigh, will be taking to the stage as his inappropriate Swiss alter-ego for the truly bizarre gameshow ‘Monsieur Poudreuse’s Mounting Quiz’. Then it’s over to the GFCNL crew for the Pirate themed Fancy-Dress Night ‘Who ARGGHHH Ya!’
Packages for this epic winter gathering are still on sale, so if you’re looking for an incredible week away, riding the best freestyle resort in the world, rubbing shoulders with Olympic stars and tearing it up at Après, then join us at The BRITS 2019.
